A thorough look round the engine bay and the fuel components, pipes, hoses tank etc all seemed OK and nothing seemed to have been damaged. Checking live data is very important but not the first check that should be carried out, hence the above checks visually.

P1260 is pre supply pressure monitoring, rate reduction due to low-pre-supply pressure. That is, fuel related. However, this normally triggers limp mode (<30mph/<2000RPM). Not uncommon on the X5.

Nov 24, 2010 · Took it to my remap guy today and the only fault that came up was P1260 - Low fuel pressure control. So, he did a leakback test and all was ok, he checked the fuel pump and it sounded ok (working!!). He has suggested changing the fuel filter, using a bottle of Forte and seeing how it goes.

May 26, 2012 · It started fine and idles fine until you accelerate gard over 2500-3000 rpm. It then hussars like there is not enough fuel getting through. I stopped at work on the way and plugged in the snap on scanner to see what fault codes would come. It showed just P1260 fuel pressure monitoring.
