I thought that was a very good deal and wondered why it didn't get any bids. When I mentioned the hours to my cousin, he says that 1150 hours is a lot.

Looking at all the standard setups. While talking to a respected boat shop, the topic of life expectancy of the 200 Optimax Sport Jet came up. The answer was 700-900 hours is about all one can expect do to the nature of the engine, after that by a new power head. I thought this was kinda crazy and asked others and the answer was the same.

We recommend the belt be replaced every 100 to 200 hours or sooner if required. If the belt breaks or if the compressor fails the engine will NOT RUN. Most Optimax engines have two small oil lines exiting the air pump (see the yellow covered fitting in the image below). There are two small white inline oil filters in these lines.

The engine hours can be found on the gauges on the console. You can easily navigate to displaying the hours by hitting the mode button for most gauges. There is one kicker though, on some of the manufacturers, like Yamaha, the engine hours were still tracked by the physical gauge. So, for most of the early and up until a few years ago.
