    So I'm about to sign a contract to become a trainee engineer with Openreach, but I'm having serious doubts. After reading that you have to give away 1 hour to travel to your first job and 1 hour from your last job to travel unpaid, the 37.5hr that are advertised can become 47.5hr plus 12 hours of potential contractual overtime per week if business requires that, you are pushed in to 60hr week any week.

    working for Openreach is quite fast paced but well managed. Great tools and clothing and the vehicles are great also. The flex system is great and if you want to work over then as long as you flex on for extra time its fine to do so, the training is top notch and keeping all the engineers up to date with the latest technologies is very well managed.
