The Noosa Botanic Gardens are a short drive from the hinterland town of Cooroy, on the shores of Lake Macdonald. The gardens comprise eight hectares of native and exotic plant species. Having seen the beautiful botanical gardens in Brisbane and Melbourne, these gardens were a bit disappointing considering that Noosa is considered so "up-market". Of course, with the on-going drought, many of the flowers, plants and trees are dead/dying, but the entire gardens just looked unkempt and quite frankly, abandoned.

The Noosa Botanic Gardens are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and our furry friends are permitted, on a leash - doggy litter bags are available. Drinking water and picnic areas are aplenty too, but even though there are no barbecue facilities in the Botanic Gardens, there are two electric barbecues in the adjoining foreshore park, next to the boat ramp.
