NPF trustee and co-founder, Sue met and collaborated with Noah Purifoy in the 1960s when Noah was the first director of the Watts Towers Art Center. When Noah resigned from the California Arts Council in 1987, Sue represented him and provided a space in Los Angeles, Tara’s Hall, for his artworks to be seen and sold.

Noah Purifoy. Born in rural Alabama, Noah Purifoy moved to Birmingham when he was five, at a time when racism was a harsh and visible reality. He received a bachelor's degree in social science from Alabama State Teacher's College in Montgomery in 1939 and taught wood shop at a Tuscaloosa high school for the next three years.
