Fewer than six wet diapers in 24 hours or diapers that stay dry for two or three hours, which might be a sign that urinary output is unusually scant; Urine that appears darker yellow and more concentrated; Dry mucus membranes (you might notice cracked lips) Tearless crying; Skin seems dry and slack (doesn’t bounce back when gently pressed) Sunken eyes

How many wet nappies in 24 hours? Hi mumas, it looks like my 16 week old is not having enough wet nappies for last two weeks. I change him every 2 or 2.5 hours and the nappy does not look aa heavy as it used to be. I do not change him overnight unless he has done a poo. He is exclusively breastfed and has been very unsettled lately.

Baby prob isn't getting enough milk from you then. You may have to supplement until your milk comes in fully. Check baby's skin to see if it's starting to turn a little yellow. That's also a sign of dehydration, in addition to no wet diapers. Good luck!

However if a baby has not passed urine for 24 hrs they are usually quite sick looking and a very mottled colour. What could be happening is that she is having very little wee's and the nappy is absorbing it up. What you could do and what we do at work is to weigh a new nappy and then weigh (kitchen scales are the best) the one that has been on.
