Majestic is just one word that comes to mind when thinking back on our drive up the mountain. It's a 5 mile drive up to the summit and takes about 20 minutes each way but give yourself extra time for stops along the way. Drive carefully and observe the speed limit as there are a few hairpin turns both ways.

The Toll Road is open from the end of May through October 31 and the hours of operation are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. This would be the perfect time of year to plan a trip up the mountain as fall foliage is officially underway.

Equinox Mountain via Skyline Drive is a 10.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Arlington, Vermont that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for road biking and scenic driving and is best used from April until September.

The trail starts getting pretty steep on the upper 3rd of the trail but we made the summit in 2 hours. Really no views along the way until you reach the summit. A short hike over to lookout point has great views of Manchester and points east. Our trip back down the mountain took 1 hour 20 minutes.
