    Weekly Hours. Monticello is open every day of the year except Christmas. Hours vary by day and season. Select the day and week you would like to visit to confirm our open hours. Visitor Center opens at time listed. The historic mountaintop opens 30 minutes later. Last tour starts 50 minutes before closing.

    The Saunders-Monticello Trail stretches 2 miles along the south side of Route 53 and across Saunders Bridge to Monticello's new Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center and Smith Education Center.
