Monticello Railway Museum. Climb aboard one of the museum's vintage passenger trains for a 50-minute round trip through the Piatt County countryside. At the museum site, visitors are welcome to tour the vintage pieces of railroad equipment on display. The museum is open and trains operate regularly Saturdays and Sundays, from May through October.

The Museum is open for train rides on Saturdays and Sundays from May 1st through October 3rd. You may board the train at the Nelson Crossing Depot (the main Museum site) or at the Wabash Depot in downtown Monticello. The train ride lasts approximately one hour, however, passengers may choose to layover at either depot.
