The Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Illinois is one of the smallest zoos in the country. However it is fun and educational. My grand kids had a great time there. There are many small animal exhibits and also some large cats. They also enjoyed the seal lion show. In December they are famous for selling jewelry made from reindeer droppings.
Open Every Day. 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some highlights include: Sumatran tiger, greater flamingos, American Alligators, river otters, red pandas, lemurs, Galapagos tortoise, bald eagles, Pallas' cat, snow leopards, gibbons, and red wolves. Read More.

3. 7/5/2016. The idea of a zoo in a town the size of Bloomington-Normal is a bit wild, but I was very impressed. I went to Miller Park Zoo several times as a kid, but I hadn't been in a decade. They have brought in several exhibits and animals, that you would not expect to see in that size zoo.
