I noticed they had a lot of monkeys, all different kinds of monkeys. The animals are divided by continent. My favorite were the giraffes. There are no food or drink vendors inside the zoo. Bathrooms cost 5 pesos (around 25 cents). In Mexico City you pay to use many of the restrooms. I found that the zoo needs a bit more of maintenance.

The 'Bosque de Chapultepec' in Mexico City I must say was impressive: vast expanse of park area, places to eat with areas of attraction close by- the Parque Zoológico de Chapultepec in particular. However, by the end of my visit to the Zoo, I was left saddened, disappointed and disgusted.

Established in the year 1999 the Zoológico Los Coyotes is the third zoo in the Mexico City. Earlier it was only a centre for seized animals, but later the Zoo was constructed on this site. The zoo mainly displays native animals of Mexico that include coyotes (close to grey wolf) from which the zoo gets its name.

Hours Tuesday through Sunday 9:00am – 4:00pm. The Zoo is closed Mondays and most City of Clovis observed holidays. The Zoo grounds are cleared by 5:00pm. We are currently asking all visitors to the zoo to wear face mask, follow the marked one-way route and to follow the mass gathering guidelines in place by the State of New Mexico.
