    Library Hours. The Ernst Mayr Library of the MCZ reopened its doors on Monday August 30, 2021. Our current hours are 9 A.M.- 6 P.M. Monday through Friday, closed on University holidays.     The MCZ houses millions of animal specimens divided into nine departments and hosts hundreds of visiting researchers each year. Exhibits of MCZ specimens can only be found at the Harvard Museum of Natural History, a member of the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture.
