Just an hour drive North from downtown Pittsburgh, McConnells Mills state park is a gem. Set in an ice age gorge cut by the Slippery Rock Creek, the park is beautiful in every season. I like it best of all in the autumn when the leaves change and the air gets crisp but it shines anytime.
