Martin Guitars is only a couple-hours drive from NYC or Philly, and a great day trip if you're staying in the Pocono Mountains on vacation. I'd have paid money for this tour, but everything is free except for the items for sale in the 1833 Gift Shop.

A worker tests a recently completed Martin guitar. While on the tour, signs and even demonstration pieces are shown to give you a better understanding of the 300 steps in the making of a Martin guitar. Tours of the factory are very detailed and can last anywhere from 45-90 minutes, depending on the guide and the number of questions from the group.

48 reviews of Martin Guitar "The Martin company provides one of the most interesting factory tours I've ever experienced. Most days, they have free tours from 11-2:30, every 20 minutes or so. It's on a first come, first served basis, with approximately 14 people per tour. We went on the day before Thanksgiving and ended up waiting about 40 minutes for a tour.

Guitars. From the earliest known Martin guitar to exist to the world famous Dreadnought, the Martin museum has well over a hundred guitars on display. Whether you want to look at antique gut string models, an ultra-rare 1930 OM-45 De Luxe or Kurt Cobain's D-18, we have almost two centuries of the finest hand built guitars to examine.
