The majority of the movie was filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. I had the good fortune to be in Mansfield recently and located the old prison just off Highway 30 and Ohio 545. And when I turned onto Reformatory Road, I was taken back to the movie. The building is truly a sight to see. Self-guided tours are available.
