My daughter and I wanted to camp and kayak for the weekend and decided on visiting Lumber River State Park - Chalk Banks. This is the western portion of the park located north of Wagram, NC. The campground has 14 sites, pit toilets, and a water spigot. The sites each have a gravel tent pad, picnic table, fire pit, and lantern post.

2 reviews of Lumber River State Park "This is a very nice state park, although it's very primitive. We camped at Chalk Banks Access, then moseyed over to Princess Ann, which is the main access of the park. Chalk Banks is a wonderful campground, although it's primitive. You can drive to your site. It's away from people and cities, so you have lots of opportunities to see and hear wildlife.
