The Laser Cutting Lab consists of multiple laser cutters that can be used to cut and engrave a variety of materials. Our current open hours are: Mon – Fri: 10am-8pm // Sat – Sun: 11am – 7pm. Always read the Laser Lab approved materials list before using the Laser Lab or laser cutters. Note: We are no longer cutting through 1/4 plywood.

The bed of the laser cutter should always be drawn in landscape orientation. After drawing the laser bed, draw your material in white positioned in the top left corner of the laser bed. In the image below, the 32”x18” laser bed is drawn with a 4”x24” piece of basswood in it. Note: the fabrication lab uses AutoCAD with a black background.

Print Charge Refunds for Laser and Inkjet Printing Print output charges in the A&D Labs are billed to your student account on a monthly basis. Print refunds will only be granted when a printer has malfunctioned or output has not appeared after 24 hours.

If one of the laser cutters is broken then the appointment on the broken laser cutter will be given to the working laser cutter if the appointment on the working laser cutter does not come to the appointment. Beverages and food are not permitted in the lab. The laser cutter is available during lab hours ONLY Open Cutting
