The edge of the placenta needs to be a minimum of 2.5 cm away from the internal os (internal opening of cervix into uterus). So I'm not sure how far away it is right now but it has to be closer than 2.5 cm to be reported as a low-lying placenta. When it's less than 2.5 cm from the cervix, the risk of hemorrhaging during labour is much much greater.
