Can anyone help? On my exchange server, the “Local delivery” ‘boxes’ kept filling up (both sources [regular SMTP & 400 Relay]). Rebooting Exchange server would clear it for a while, and then they would start filling up again. Diagnostic Logging would show numerous 7004 and 7010 errors ... · Looks like you are receiving a lot of spam messages ...

When I got back to the office started to look at the problems. Firstly thought it may be something to do with DNS resolutions, however, that checked out ok. I then looked at the SMTP queues and noticed that some messages were stuck in the local deliver queue, all with status "Retry". This was effecting both external and internal email.
