    However practically, my second and third labours were no easier than my third. My first was 24 hours back to back with just gas and air, I was cut. My second was 36 hours (yes longer) and back to back again but this time I had pethadine which made the experience a lot more relaxed, but that may have been that I was calmer second time around.

    1st labour 6 1/2 hrs from first contraction to delivery (forceps after 2hr pushing), 2nd labour 5 1/2 hrs from first contraction to delivery (but got stuck at 9cm for 2hr that time so had i listened to the midwife and moved position instead of shouting, sobbing and lying stock still i think it would have been more like 3-4hrs as went from 5-9cm in an hour)

    Jul 22, 2008 · I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my second child. I'm curious about other 2nd time mothers' experiences. Was labour quicker? Longer? Earlier or Late? Was your baby bigger or smaller? My first child came 11 days early, was 6lbs 2oz and labour lasted an hour and 45 minues. I'm hoping the same happens this time!!
