I have the Kontour seat on my R1200R. I had Ron put the wide seat wings on it. I think that makes the best long distance seat. I ride 8-12 hours a day. While the ventilation is good, the wide seat is a more effective option. The foam Ron uses breaks down after 12,000 miles.

469 Posts. #5 · Jun 30, 2011. I had a Kontour seat for my 05 LT and loved it. Had about 30,000 miles when I traded it for my 06 R1200RT. The RT has about 40,000 miles now. The first thing I did when I made the trade was to order a Kontour seat for the RT. Rain is not a problem.
