Free admission, friendly staff, generous hours n reasonable class fees. What's not to like? Pool's about 4 feet deep w short-course lanes (width of pool) readily available. Open weekdays 7-7-ish. Weekends too, although not sure about hours. Only drawbacks? Mid-day closure 2-3pm-ish.

And I must say that the Kona Community Aquatic Center is my absolute favorite place to work out! This is a gorgeous 50-meter Facility with large and clean changing rooms. The pool's water temperature is kept right around 83 degrees, and feels ideal. The management maintain the pool to a very high level. The clarity of the water is terrific.

The pool has a bulkhead that is usually set at 25y; swimming is in the eight lanes end-wall to bulkhead, and in nine (25y) lanes, side-wall to side-wall. Edit The pool is open on weekdays from 6:15 AM to 7 PM and on weekends from 8:15 to 11:45 AM and from 1 to 5 PM.
