There is a no-riding curfew between the hours of 9:00pm and 9:00am. ATV, motor cycle type vehicles unloaded and used during the stay are $5/night each. Parking - One vehicle per campsite. Out of the roads and on your site only at all times! Noise - Quiet Time is 10PM until 9AM - conversation level only, no music, idling motors, etc. - At all other times please do not disturb your neighbors with excessive noise

One final novelty of Kinbasket Lake Resort is the owner. Older hockey fans might recognize his name, Rick Chartraw, as he was an NHL player in the 70s and 80s winning 5 Stanley Cups (4 with Montreal and 1 with Edmonton). Rick is a gruff looking character, much like his resort in retrospect, but is incredibly friendly.

I was camping at Kinbasket Lake Resort on the weekend of July 1st. Definitely not worth driving 6 hours. Pictures on the website are very deceiving, and information provided is not accurate. Not much to do around this camp. The closest town is Golden which is 50KM from the “Resort”. I love how they have the nerves to call it a resort.

Canoe Mountain is a “fat” mountain at roughly 15 km south of Valemount, in the Monashee Range of Columbia Mountains. It’s the northernmost summit of the Monashees. Towards west across Kinbasket Lake are the west slopes of Canadian Rockies. Towards east is the Cariboo Range. The location guarantees great views from the top.
