I'm with Jim here. Scales can raise a bit if dried too fast. With a bass or panfish I usually let them dry on their own about 3-4 hours to set up and then I'll turn the fan on. If I'm in a hurry I'll put the fan on right away, but away from the fish, lowest setting and then oscillating.
