At Java City, we believe in making better coffee and doing it in a way that’s better for farmers and the environment. Our beans are roasted in Italian brick-lined roasters, allowing for a slower, longer roast. This unique roasting process uses radiant heat versus direct heat, and what that means for you is coffee that’s exceptionally smooth.

Java City is a hand-crafted specialty coffee roaster that started in 1985 where the company began hand roasting the world’s finest coffees in an old brick building in downtown Sacramento. Java City beans are carefully roasted using authentic Italian bricklined roasters that provide radiant heat, allowing a slower, longer roast.

Java City coffee sucks imo, and their foodstuff comes from other on campus vendors. Their coffee and food both suck, but I dont think they should replace it with another DD, get a local or student/alumni-owned coffee shop. In addition replace cafe bustelo with vicky's bakery or a student/alumni-owned cuban cafe. Aramark isn't going anywhere.
