Oct 29, 2003 · Thanks for the quick answer. I was wondering if I have access to the JMSXDeliveryCount property since I am using MQ 5.3 as foreign JMS server in WLS (and not the WLS JMS server). After debugging the code it seems like the JMSXDeliveryCount is set in the message I receive (I received the message without using the message selector).

What's New in JMS 2.0, Part Two—New Messaging Features

    https://www.oracle.com/technical-resources/articles/java/jms2messaging.html
JMSXDeliveryCount is not a new property; it was defined in JMS 1.1. However, in JMS 1.1, it was optional for a JMS provider to actually set it, which meant application code that used it was not portable. In JMS 2.0, it becomes mandatory for JMS providers to set this property, allowing portable applications to …

    https://community.oracle.com/thread/739704
Feb 27, 2007 · Please note that as of 9.2, BEA supplies its own "JMSXDeliveryCount" value - and this value will replace any application set value for the property. (Applications should not set the "JMSXDeliveryCount" property: the JMS spec states that different vendors may ignore or override this value. Sonic JMS will actually throw an exception if this ...

JMSXDeliveryCount is not increased after client... JBoss ...

    https://developer.jboss.org/thread/151962
May 14, 2010 · One idea was to set DefaultMaxDeliveryAttempts to 1 to let JBoss Messaging move messages into the DLQ if the messages are redelivered. This does work if the client does call (Session s).recover(); as it is done in the JMSXDeliveryCountTest class. If (Session s).recover() is called then the JMSXDeliveryCount is increased.

If neither the hosting JMS server nor the destination has the attribute set with a valid value, then the value of the attribute on the JMS template determines the state of the destination at boot time. If the attribute has not been set at any of the three levels, then the value is assumed to be “false”.

Nov 20, 2019 · JMSXDeliveryCount: This header specifies the number of processings for this message. Value 1 means that it is the first attempt to process this message, value 2 means that it is the second attempt, meaning it is the first retry. Note that these headers are not set or not reliably set by some messaging systems.

JMS Templates: Configuration: Redelivery

The default value (-1) specifies that the destination will not override the message sender's redelivery limit setting. Note: WebLogic Server supports the JMSXDeliveryCount message property, which specifies the number of message delivery attempts, where the first attempt is 1, the next attempt is 2, and so on.
