(It's probably the same for everyone unless you have a static IP). As a result, you will see that your router log will show a new connection to the Internet every two hours if you are actively using the connection.

I had to frequently reload web pages when they failed to load, and it interrupted downloading of large files and disrupted connections to financial websites.

Aug 26, 2008 · This has always happened, but mostly stopped after I switched to a 5-2200mhz 4-Way splitter about 6 months ago. Before that, the disconnects would be like every ten days. Now, it's happening every few hours. Sometimes it resolves itself, sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect the modem from the cable line (powercycling doesn't do it).

Since I work from home I have had to get my schedule re-arranged. same problem, losing att internet service at about 9:30pm ET every night, starting happening about 1 week ago, out for almost exactly 5 mins each time. AT&T came out and replaced the gateway which solved the problem for me.
