We were established in 1966 by a group of local railroad enthusiasts. The purpose of the club was to maintain the city’s newly gifted train, train cars, the railroad and to provide rides to the public. The railroad is located in Riverside’s Hunter Hobby Park at 1421 Iowa Ave.

Hunter Park has a miniature train that runs twice a month on a Sunday morning. Our children are older so we have never gone there for that, but it is a beautiful, well-maintained park with lights in the evening until 10pm; 4 basketball courts and two baseball/softball fields.
HOBBY PARK allows their visitors to enjoy various hobbies such as 4x4 Trials and Training, Paint ball, Hiking, Cycling, Birding, Archery, Para-sailing, Golf, Fishing, Photography, Orientation, Car Clubs and an opportunity to hire the Club House for team building, functions or launches.

Riverside Live Steamers (Free mini train rides) Back in the 1950’s, Joe Hunter, a well known Riverside industrialist, realized that steam locomotives were disappearing from the railroads that passed through Riverside. Setting aside 40 acres that surrounded his industrial complex, Mr. Hunter built a 4,300 foot railroad, locomotive, and three cars.
