Length of Circadian Cycle in Humans - Circadian Sleep ...

    https://www.circadiansleepdisorders.org/info/cycle_length.php
The average length of a person's intrinsic circadian rhythm (one's built-in day) has been shown to be around 24 hours and 11 minutes (previously it was believed to be around 25 hours). The average intrinsic circadian rhythm in patients with delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS) …

a range of 13 to 65 hours, with a median of 25 hours, 12 minutes. The variation between our subjects, with a 95 percent level of confidence, was no more than plus or minus 16 minutes, a remarkably small range.” “These data reveal that the human circadian pacemaker is as stable and precise in measuring time as that of other mammals,” notes ...

25 hour circadian rythm? - Science - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

I haven't seen any discussion into why it would be, but the human body actually has two circadian systems that interact. It looks like the other system has a 30-hour cycle. Honestly, I feel like keeping the same schedule throughout different seasons has a greater impact than fitting to a 24-hour cycle, but it's still a really interesting question.

Human circadian rhythms: a multioscillatory system

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/786739/
Often, the activity rhythm (wakefulness and sleep) and other rhythmic variables (e.g., temperature) have the same circadian period of about 25 hours (referred to as the state of internal synchronization) but on occasions the activity period may become substantially longer (e.g., 33 hours) while the other rhythms continue with a period of about ...

Circadian rhythms are physical, mental, and behavioral changes that follow a 24-hour cycle. These natural processes respond primarily to light and dark and affect most living things, including animals, plants, and microbes. Chronobiology is the study of circadian rhythms. One example of a light-related circadian rhythm is sleeping at night and ...

A negative energy balance (reduction 1.2 MJ/d over 28 days) influenced only the total energy and substrate balance over 24 hours and the daily average level, respectively. The circadian conditions remained unchanged (Chossat's phenomenon). The variability in daily rhythm of the energy expenditure of nearly 25% of the daily average should be ...

Why are our circadian rhythms longer than 24 hours ...

    https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/2l8g5k/why_are_our_circadian_rhythms_longer_than_24_hours/
The average human circadian period is about 24.15 hours, but differs slightly between individuals. First, as others have noted, the persistent idea that our intrinsic circadian period (i.e., the period we express in the absence of any time cues) is 25 hours is incorrect.
