The quick and dirty way, if your interval isn't particularly critical and you are connected to reliable external power: void loop () { Serial.println ("The value you want to send to the PC"); delay (5UL*60UL*60UL*1000UL); // Wait 5 hours } The delay () function will wait for up to 49 days, 17 hours, 2 minutes and 47.295 seconds, if necessary.

I have set up a task that I want to run daily and repeat the task every hour for a duration of 8 hours. I have tried running the task as SYSTEM, local admin, domain admin. I've configured the task for Windows 10. The task NEVER RUNS. It increments the Next Run Time forward 1 hour, but it never runs the task nor updates the Last Run Time.

Edit your cronjob file by running crontab -e command. Add the following line for an every-5-minutes interval. */5 * * * * /path/to/script-or-program. Save the file, and that is it. If you want to do it every 12 hours, add this line when editing crontab file. 0 */12 * * * /path/to/script-or-program.

TimerTask is an abstract class present in the java.util.TimerTask package in Java which implements the Runnable interface. As it is an abstract class it needs to be implemented and the run method of this class needs to be overridden. This class is used to define a task to run every n seconds or run periodically or even for a single time.

Program 1 calls Program 2 to close the door. Program 2 being Disabled does not stop that. Program 2 being Disabled only stops it from being triggered independently by a change in Sensor status. A Disabled Program can still be called by another Program. Program 1 will still call Program 2 every hour even with Program 2 Disabled.

import java.util.TimerTask; import java.util.Date; /** * * @author Dhinakaran P. */ // Create a class extends with TimerTask public class ScheduledTask extends TimerTask { Date now; // to display current time // Add your task here public void run() { now = new Date(); // initialize date System.out.println("Time is :" + now); // Display current time } }

All you need to do is, configure this cronjob in your system with the script/program you want to run, which can be done in an unix/linux based operating system as following: Step 1: Edit your cronjob file by running "crontab -e" command. Step 2: Add the following line for every hour interval: 0 * * * * /path/to/your/script-or-program.
