Jun 22, 2016 at 11:57 AM. This happened with me basically in the Catholic church only one godparent needs to be confirmed. The other one who isn't confirmed is called a "witness" an that is what it says on Baptism certificate. They are still the godmother / godfather but they can't be labeled as so without being confirmed.
