Hillsborough County Public Schools provides the VPK program through several delivery models: Summer. Each summer, our school district provides the VPK program at approximately 20 schools throughout the district. This program is offered from 7:00am to 5:00pm (M-TH) and runs from June 14th - July 15th.

Parents have the option of enrolling children in a school-year program that consists of 540 instructional hours, OR a summer program, consisting of 300 instructional hours. The VPK Program is a FREE, voluntary program designed to prepare Florida’s 4-year-olds for successful entry into kindergarten. Programs will serve minimum of 540 instructional hours. The Flexible VPK option allows families to have their 4-year-olds attend an innovative, temporarily virtual VPK program for up to 270 hours until Dec. 31, 2020, after which children will return to in-person instruction.

School year VPK Program Each credentialed VPK Instructor (lead teacher) must have: Copy of one (1) of the following credentials: Copy of a five (or more) hour Early Literacy training certificate.
