You've demonstrated that you're a good student, but taking 21 credit hours is A LOT for ANYONE to tackle. Nevermind trying to handle that and working part-time. Taking an extra year in between undergrad and graduate studies isn't a big deal and will likely bring you much less stress, so I'd go with that.

Jokes aside, it's really not worth it. If you take 21 credits vs 18 for six semesters you'll save one semester worth of time, at the cost of all your free time and probably mental well-being. You're also giving up on opportunities to build other skills.

I have to take 21 credit hours. In order to keep my financial aid for Spring 2019, I have to take at least 20 credit hours this fall. I am not doing this by choice, this is what i was told i had to do by the financial aid office at my school. I initially registered for 18 CH, but my school doesn’t offer classes that are 2 CH, so I’m at 21.

Dean Hutchinson has a hard and fast policy (new this year) that 1st year Freshman may not have special permission (over 20 hour) requests approved.

The ONLY exception I have seen was for 21 for someone who needed it for ROTC. I requested 21 myself with 3 of those hours being a training course (not work intensive), and was flatly denied.
