I like both, but handbrake products take up a lot less space than ripper. However ripper only takes an hour at the most. When I use handbrake it take anywhere from 6 to 8 hours to do using 2-pass encoding and MP4 format. I've check the forums about settings and I have them right. I have a 6 month old PB so it is fast.

It takes about 2 - 3 hours for most BDs with my system. I use VidCoder (Handbrake GUI) only for DVD>MKV conversions. It takes about 25 - 30 minutes for DVD>MKV conversion. The content encoded makes a huge difference, along with your encoding settings and what output quality you want.

But x265 takes a while; I’ve been compressing blu-rays and at 10-bit (less banding in gradients and more efficient encoding), RF13 with NLmeans ultralight denoising on a Xeon e3-1240v2 (basically a third-gen i7 4C/8T cpu) a 2-hour movie takes 6 hours to process. That’s also just using audio pass-through as well.

Handbrake taking 4+ hours to rip DVD. Close. 2. Posted by 1 year ago. ... I was trying to do the Handbrake solution, which is well documented and was recommended based on my needs, but it's taking 4 and more hours to rip a single DVD movie with default "Super HQ 480p30 Surround" preset selected and which I've left everything on the default.

I am converting "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" so I can put it on my Ipad 2. My source is a "mpeg-4 @710MB" with a resolution of "800x320" and the length of the movie is about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I used handbrake to convert it. I …

In handbrake on the audio tab of a raw capture, it lists one stereo track as Unknown PCM 2.0 ch. Once I use handbrake, I get 2x Unknown AAC LC 2.0ch. In audacity, I have inverted one track and mixed to a new track which resulted in the top channel still …

I handbrake br rips with a 9 year old QX9770 (quadcore 3.2ghz) that manages to get a passmark around 4600. It takes about 8-10 hours for 2 hour movies to convert to mkv(h264) on the very slow setting. I usually just run them overnight, or run …

Since my system is a laptop with only 6 cores/12 threads, the 2h17m film took 9.5 hours overnight. Newer films will process faster due to lack of grain, and faster on powerful desktop systems, obviously. The filesize went from 52GB to 21GB and looks fantastic, with the original DTS-HD MA 5.1 track in place.
