IOD is DHL speak for something like information on delivery. It was. alledgedly going to be confirmation of delivery, but the acronym COD would be confusing. That'll be the electronic pad you sign to confirm you've had it, which is then uploaded onto their tracker website.

Feb 16, 2009 · Best Answer: I think it means that your package is still on it's way to being delivered. Once it gets to it's destination and the person on the receiving end signs for it, it will show up as delivered to destination; signed for by (what ever the person's name is)

Just means that a 3rd party company is delivering it on behalf of DHL. IOD is like the signature - so DHL are waiting for Home Service Delivery to send info of delivery back to them. I Have the same thing.

Nov 17, 2008 · IOD= Information on Delivery basically your parcel (HSD) is in a van somewhere between the depot and your house, the van is stuck in traffic, the driver is on his mobile to his shitty girlfriend moaning about just how bad his life is, he's stuffing his face with a bacon roll, and he'll hand you your parcel with greasy fingers then ask you for your signature (IOD).
