Nov 30, 2019 · How Much to Tip Pizza And Other Food Delivery Drivers. For delivery orders of $20 or less, it is customary to offer a minimum tip of $3. For any amount over $20, tip 10 to 15 percent but never less than $5. Before opting for that $3 tip on small orders, consider whether you would make the same trip for a mere three bucks.

Tipping a pizza delivery person is not mandatory, but it is considered discourteous not to do so. If your order comes to a maximum of $20, then a $3 tip is typical. If your order comes to more than $20, your tip should be a minimum of $5 or 10-20% of your order amount, whichever is higher.

Under federal law, restaurants are required to pay delivery drivers $2.13 per hour if they utilize the tip credit, though gratuities must push each driver over the $7.25 federal minimum wage. In the event that the $7.25 hourly rate is not met on a workweek basis, an employer must make up the difference.

Most orders are online and paid for in advance, so cash payments and tips aren't exactly common, so tipping six quid is going to make someone on minimum wage very, very, happy, and I encourage you to do it. Of course, no matter how much you tip your driver, the 16 year old on minimum wage at 10pm gets jack shit and knows it.

I always tip in restaurants when you can just leave the change (plus maybe some extra £s on the table) but I don't tend to tip the delivery person, mostly because I've already paid online/by phone and I'd feel worse giving over £1 to the delivery guy than I do not giving anything at all.

You’ll be served much quicker for the rest of the night! Totally besides the point, but it’s just good advice. Why shouldn’t you tip? 1. New Restaurant. If a takeaway restaurant is consistently good – with food as well as delivery – we can understand why you might want to reward them.

I always tip as long as the delivery is correct and within a reasonable time scale. Somewhere around 5% on a delivery is reasonable. Anyone who says that they don't tip in the UK is just tight!
