Maybe I'll change my mind when I'm in the situation (having #2) but at this point, the last thing I'd want in the delivery room would be my son. I love him to pieces, but I didn't want anybody in there with me except for my ex (he was my support guy :)). I didn't even want my parents in the waiting room because I didn't want people hovering.

If you have a younger child, consider inviting him into the delivery room only for the actual moment of birth. Asking a young child to endure his mom's entire labor could be very hard on him. Feel free to change your own mind about having your child at the birth.

I was all about having my older child, who was only 16 months at the time, and my SIL in the room. They showed up and I was naked in the shower on a birthing ball and I had my husband tell them to get out. I have a crazy mothering instinct and if my kids are around me, I can't just tune them out.
