Gruta (cave), waterfalls, tunnel. Opening hours – 8:00 am a 5:00 pm. The cave and the tunnel are right next to one another. As you get close to the cave, you’ll be required to lock all your belongings into a locker as you are not allowed to take anything with you inside the cave except towel and the phone.

La Gruta was quiet on a Tuesday and was very lush and peaceful compared to the surrounding desert landscape. Never thought I'd spend a day in January sunbathing in San Miguel, but we did. Good small restaurant and drink service in the pool. The water is warm, but not really hot like Japanese baths. Easy to lounge in for a long time.

A short distance outside San Miguel de Allende is a collection of hot springs which are commercially owned, and tailor to those of us who like being submerged in water. All of these establishments have a unique take on providing you with pleasure, but of these "La Gruta" is my personal favorite. I have peeves. Lifeguards at swimming pools.
