    I visited Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument in late winter of 1992. The highway from Silver City to the monument was narrow with many curves, and there was a light covering of snow along the upper reaches of the highway, but since I wasn't in a hurry the trek didn't pose any unusual hazards.
