ftp timestamp off by 5 hours when using windows explorer. When using windows explorer the dates of last modified is off by 5 hours. If you use ie9, Chrome, or firefox the time shows correctly. Client (PC), Server (FTP) all show the correct time and time zone. This seems like a windows 7 bug, it does not happen in XP.

SFTP timestamp off by 5 hours. I'm trying to synchronize a directory from my WinXP machine via SFTP-2 to a Win2003 server running Foxit WAC and for some reason, the timestamp for the files uploaded to the Win2k3 server is behind by exactly 5 hours. Both servers are in the same time zone and correctly set to Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5).

When I use windows explorer on a Windows 7 desktop to connect to the ftp site the Date Modified timestamp is off by exactly 5 hours...But if I use other ftp clients (Firefox and Filezilla) I get the correct timestamps. The time on the desktop and server are correct and in the same timezone (central). ftp windows-explorer date-modified.

On Windows 7(SP1), Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, you access a folder using ftp by opening an explorer window and typing in the FQDN FTP URL in the address bar. In the FTP folder view, if you access the properties of a file, you may notice that the Modified time in the properties of the file may not match the Date modified time stamp displayed in ...

We have a 2008R2 server with FileZilla Server version 0.9.36 Beta installed. When navigating to the ftp server through file explorer, timestamps are off on files by exactly 6 hours. When navigating to the server through IE, timestamps are accurate. Both the server and the client I am using to access the server are on CST.
https://serverfault.com/questions/374869/iis-ftp-daylight-savings-timestamps-are-off
The IIS FTP server is reporting file timestamps without applying daylight savings time offset, ie. in Windows explorer, a file shows a modification timestamp of 2012-01-01T01:27 and the FTP server shows it as 2012-01-01T02:27. This is screwing up some file synchronization scripts that use the timestamps to ensure backups are complete and up to ...

For certain reasons certain old versions of Microsoft Windows (XP, 2003, Vista and 2008)3 shifts timestamps of ALL files by one hour once Daylight Saving Time starts and/or finishes.4 For example, for file created on 2005-02-25 14:00, Windows applications (like Windows File Explorer or WinSCP) will show modification time 2005-02-25 15:00, when DST is in effect.

We are using WinSCP 5.1.1. When we FTP to host, WinSCP is showing file modification times incorrectly. It appears to always be 10 hours out. Since we are in Sydney I assume we are getting UTC time.

John Carver May 5, 2009 16:51:45 GMT N/A: Question Author Did a little research and I've added the entry "TimesGMT off" to the /etc/proftpd.conf file. Now the timestamp is displayed in local time from the ftp client. Thanks all for the discussion.

When synchronizing with an FTP site using virtual host names, timestamps are correctly displayed, but when uploading a new file, the timestamp on the server and displayed in Beyond compare is 2 hours off (2 hours older than it should be). I did test this on the same server, restarting ftp services and beyond compare.
