As of 2021, over 15,000 children in Georgia are placed in foster care, not including hundreds of thousands of children being raised by thousands of grandparents, relatives, or fictive kin. If the child is being adopted by a grandparent or other relative / fictive kin, the child may continue to receive services from Foster Care Support Foundation according to FCSF relative care eligibility policy. Children placed with Relative Care/Fictive Kin caregivers are eligible for 4 seasons if receiving a per diem or comparable compensation.
