I happened to visit the Foster Avenue Beach on perhaps the best day (so far, weather-wise) of 2014 in Chicago. The temperature was in the upper 70s, the sky a brilliant sapphire blue, and there was a gentle breeze from the southeast blowing in off Lake Michigan at about 3 miles an hour.
