They have gun demonstrations, flag raising and lowering ceremonies, people dress in period costumes. It costs $5 per car (what super cheap right) to park and you can walk back in time.

Fort de Chartres is a recreation of an old fort that was built by the French and occupied by the English for a short time. It is quite impressive. Kids love the turrets and castle-like feel. Nice small museum on grounds. Small church very interesting. Free. Beautiful views of the bluffs.
