Forgotten Barrel came to mind as a local urban winery. They were only open for pick up for six hours out of the week and just opened up at reduced capacity on their quaint yet broad property. One can make a reservation for a table for $40 and the monies are applied to any bottle, glass or food purchases from the tasting room.

Forgotten Barrel winery is a historic property located in Escondido. This property dates back to the 1880's and was owned by the Ferrara family from 1928 until 2010. Recently restored, the tasting room, beautiful grounds and barrel room offer a peaceful place to enjoy local wines as well as wine made in our Napa facility.

Forgotten Barrel Winery and Tasting Room is proud to be part of the history of Escondido and San Diego wine. Rodger Grove, owner of Forgotten Barrel purchased the historic Ferrara Winery in 2016, started renovations in early 2017, and opened the tasting room June of 2017. The restoration project is now completed.
