In a U.S. News & World Report article, etiquette writer Judith Bowman said 2008 interview that you don't have to tip an appliance delivery person. You almost always pay for delivery. Part of this extra charge goes to pay the delivery person, so you shouldn't feel that your tip …

Jul 08, 2012 · We had a fridge delivered several years ago. There were 2 delivery guys. I gave them a $15 tip (total --- actually wanted to give $20 but I didn't have it). I just feel that even though it's their job to make deliveries and lug heavy stuff that they should get some appreciation for it.

And lastly, did they leave your house in better shape than when they found it? Depending on the job and your home’s layout, you should probably tip them anywhere from $5 to $20 each. Like I said I get tips. I have charged people $175 to change a $20 part and took only twenty minutes and been given $200 and told "keep the change".

I never tip delivery men. If it's something big like a fridge, they never tell you when they are going to be there so you end up waiting in half a day for them. Not tip-worthy service in my book. I never tip food delivery people either, but that's because I never have food delivered - I live near all the takeaways.
