Dec 22, 2014 · I ordered a present for my mother for Christmas and paid extra shipping to insure that it got here before Christmas and it was scheduled to be delivered today but the tracking updated with "Delivery exception", "Business closed - No delivery attempt". What does this mean?? Why didn't they try to deliver it today. I'm pretty sure FedEx is open??

The exception was logged in the FedEx system at 10:27, just 3 minutes before the guaranteed delivery time. Makes me wonder if FedEx is oversubscribed (too many packages for not enough drivers) and perhaps this the loophole they use to avoid missing their service guarantee? I fussed and fumed with CS who said they'd request redelivery, but no joy.

May 27, 2011 · I get to work at 9:00 Friday (private photo studio) and I wait, and wait, and wait. At 3:oo pm I check online and it says a delivery attempt was made at 11:00 but the business was closed.
