Created by pastry chef Karen Krasne, Extraordinary Desserts built its name on showstopping cakes and desserts. Extraordinary Desserts continues to be a “must visit” for San Diegans and visitors alike with two wildly popular locations in the Little Italy and Banker’s Hill neighborhoods.

9/7/2021. My first memory extraordinary desserts is of a 2 hour wait on a weekend to just pick out desserts that were not quite at the level of a 2 hour wait. That might just be me, though I did buy about half a dozen cakes and pastries to justify the loitering and thought they were decent.

They also have great vanilla ice cream that compliments any of their desserts. Wish list: Extraordinary Desserts used to be open late and offer dine-in options however since the pandemic they close rather early and you aren't able to dine-in. I would love to see their locations be open after 10pm and open for dine-in.

7921 reviews of Extraordinary Desserts "Had a slice the "best seller" Giandua (sp?) cake here, and it was DIVINE. It was super rich and consisted of rum, hazelnut, and chocolate, I shared one and we still couldn't finish it. I actually liked the industrial/asian setting, it reminded me of something I'd see in NYC. Perfect place for a dessert date.
