114/122 AMP hours (I'm getting different amp hours in different customer reviews) 210 Reserve Capacity (RC) I'm thinking of getting the Maxx 29DC because of the higher reserve capacity and amp hours. The Maxx may be a dual purpose battery, (i.e. hybrid), where the 27DC is just a deep cycle battery, I believe, though the only true deep cycle may be 6 volt batteries.

Cabin Forum/Blog: Hello everyone. I just got my first deep cycle marine 12v battery for my small solar setup. It is a autocraft 27dc-2 battery with 600 cold cranking amps, 750 cranking amps at 32 degrees and a reserve capacity of 160. This is all from the plate on top. Can you tell me how I can get the amp hours from this info or if that is even possible?

Everstart Part Number: 26-5. Cranking amps: 650. Cold cranking amps: 525. Dimensions: 7.75" (w) x 6.5" (d) x 7.0" (h) What I may have to do as a last resort is charge up the battery fully then run a known load and time how long it takes to drop to 12.0 volts, at which point I can assume about 25% capacity is left.

It has 875 cranking amps (tested at 32 degrees F and 80 degrees F) and 205 minutes reserve capacity (how long a new, fully charged battery can be continuously discharged, at 80 degrees F, at 25 amperes while maintaining a voltage equal to or higher than 1.75 volts per cell). As of 2010, it costs around $70 at WalMart.

Ok, if the current drawn is x amps, the time is T hours then the capacity C in amp-hours is. C = xT. For example, if your pump is drawing 120 mA and you want it to run for 24 hours. C (amp hours) = 0.12 Amps * 24 hours = 2.88 amp hours (keep going, not done calculating yet) Step 2. Battery Cycle life considerations.

A couple of interesting facts on thier "DC" ("Deep Cycle") batteries: Normal ones (Everstart with 1 year warranty)are rated for 65 cycles. Higher end ones (MAXX with 2 year warranty) are rated for 85 cycles. In the narrative, the only "DC" battery that DID NOT list "starting" as one of it's uses was the 27DC-6.
