There are instances of E-TECs running with over 6000 hours on them. Many commercial crabbers and fisherman have over 3000 hours on their motors. Many recreational customers have well over 1000 hours on their engines. _____...possessing more tools than talent ! My sarcasm and my sincerity sound surprisingly similar !

Reply with quote. #12. It can be confusing. Yours appears to have 3 year BRP plus 5 year/1000 hour BEST. The BEST warranty is a BRP product that can vary from being years given as a promo or years can be purchased. The BRP rep may have been technically correct that the BRP (3 year warranty) has no hour limitation.

Here is an image of a 250 E-TEC taken completely apart after 1000 hours of heavy use. This was done by one of our own etecownersgroup members who contributes from time to time. A nautical magazine used the E-TEC then commissioned them to pull the motor apart to emulate what some car magazines do at 100,000 miles to an automobile.

Many. Aug 30, 2017. #25. I have a fleet of 60hp etec's and they get the crap beat out of them ( towing wot at only 2500-3000 rpm and run wide open at 5500 rpm in pounding seas 12+ hours a day) I can tell you they are good for over 5000 hours. One of them is now 3 years old and as of today has 5011 hours on it.
