We exploit a variation of the labor regulation in Chile which includes a reduction of the maximum standard hours from 48 to 45 h per week to study the effect of the reduction of hours on employment transitions. The characteristics of the labor reform allow us to have a reduction of standard hours that is not jointly implemented with other policies.
